I love that one. It’s not condescending, it’s just my honest, blunt, and blunt view of coworkers.
My coworker can be condescending. He’s a jerk to me, but I love that he’s just honest and blunt about it.
Like all of our characters, our coworkers may not be the smartest people around. But that doesn’t make them any less of an ally. In fact, the fact that our coworkers are actually really smart has allowed us to play some pretty cool games. Our job is to run around the office, solve puzzles, and generally be like the smartest person around. This is an easy job. You just do it.
Thats exactly what we all do. But, just like our characters, our coworkers are not the smartest people around, they are simply the smartest people that we can come up with. We have to come up with the smartest people we can find in order to get the job done, but they are also the smartest people around that we can come up with that are the most likely to get us the job done. So we play games with them, and they play games with us.
Basically, everyone needs a couple of coworkers to play with them. So, because we all need a coworker, we call them that. To be clear, however, we are not actually that close to being that smart. And by “we,” I mean “I”, which is why I’m the first to admit that I am not the smartest person around. I think. I do. I sometimes make things up, which is why I’m usually the last one to admit that I am.
In the game, everyone is trying to kill one another, and they are all so close to killing each other that they can’t see or hear each other. This is why it’s easier to kill someone than it is to play with them.
So why am I telling you this? Because I have an idea. I want to make this game about how dumb I am. I want to show that Im not the smartest person in the world. I want to make sure people know that I am. Because I am.
I really just want people to like this game. It’s been years since I’ve played an RPG. But I recently got an email from a coworker that said, “I’m not going to be able to play your game because you are such a condescending asshole.” Now this is not just a personal attack, I actually have a video I’m editing for my employer that references that person.
Yes, we get that you dont like this game because it is about a guy who gets really into being the smartest person in the world, but you are wrong. I just wanted to make sure that you see my point. You are the smartest person in the world because you are a nerd. You can be all smart and say that you like this game, but without even using a single word of sarcasm or irony. Youre a condescending prick.
Oh come on, Im just being serious. This is a game about a man who gets really into being the smartest person in the world. He just pretends to be one because he is, and we know that he is not. You can say you like the game but that doesnt make it true. You are the smartest person in the world because you are a nerd. A true nerd would say that he or she likes the game because he or she is a nerd.
