I wrote this last night and it’s probably my favorite quote from the day. I’m sure it will stick around for a while. I just needed to share it with you guys because it was the inspiration for our “self awareness” lesson.
Dave Ramsey has been saying it for years and years, and you’re finally getting to hear it for yourself. I can’t believe it’s taken this long for someone to come up with the perfect version.
I don’t know if you’ve seen this video or not, but I have watched it more than a few times. This is brilliant and mind-blowing.
I don’t know if you guys know this, but Dave Ramsey is a motivational speaker and author. He is also a big-time video game fan. He loves video games and he takes it seriously. He has spoken at conventions about how video games can help people out. He says that video games can help people out to be more productive, motivated, and better people. He has even said that video games can help people become better athletes.
Ramsey talks about video games in the context of being an active participant. But he also talks about being a bystander. He talks about the concept of the “self.” He says we need to stop thinking of ourselves only in terms of our “selves” and start to define ourselves in terms of others.
In my opinion, that’s a pretty big step.
I think that this is important because people are so busy trying to be their best selves that we don’t really have the time to take care of themselves. We don’t realize how much time we spend on the things that really matter to us.
That might be true of him, but he also spends a lot of time on things that arent his. I’m referring to things like his love life, his relationships to other people, his business, his hobbies, etc. What he’s saying is that once you have your own “self” it becomes important to make sure you are giving back to your community. You aren’t a victim.
