My debit card is almost due for its expiration date, and I don’t even remember if I put it in the bank or at the bank. It’s so obvious and so easy to forget. I didn’t even think to put my card at the bank until I saw my name on the receipt.
This is really just the tip of the iceberg. Like I said, almost all of us tend to forget about expiration dates, but we almost never leave the house without it. It’s just like the debit card itself: It’s easy to forget how much, if not more, we owe.
One of the challenges of self-awareness is that we don’t always know when we forgot something. For example, I forget whether or not my credit card is going to show up on my statement until I look at it. I also forget that my debit card will expire. In most cases, though, it’s easy to forget to update expiration dates because we tend to get so used to them that it’s not even that much of a hassle to take some time to update them.
Well this is the first time I’ve checked my statement, and my debit card is almost up to date. However, what I do notice is that there are a number of “non-expiring” debit card transactions listed. If I were to check, I would be able to see that I have “unpaid balance” on my account. Although, what I find interesting in this case is that it appears that the transaction occurred on March 29, 2010.
This sounds like a pretty good idea, so let’s just go with some assumptions. First, that I’m going to be unable to find a specific person to the right person on the street in the next few days. Second, that I’m going to be unable to find any information about my credit card company from the person I actually was.
If you don’t check your account, you can probably find a friend to the right person on the street. And third, that I will be unable to find any info about my bank account or my credit card company from the person I actually was.
In the first two cases, you can always ask your bank or credit card company for additional information. In the last case, I am not sure; I seem to remember a couple of times when my debit card ran out and I had to call my bank and ask for more information and it was pretty clear that I didn’t have to call back in the future.
If you’re expecting some kind of reward or bonus with your credit card company, you’re probably not correct. It’s not uncommon for a card to expire after a few years, and if you don’t renew it, you may run into the same problem with your bank. The only way to avoid this problem is to either change your bank account number or change your credit card company.
The good news is that many banks, credit cards, and credit card companies have some sort of credit reward program. If you apply for a card from a credit card company, you can expect to hear within a few days of applying to get a free $100 reward. As far as banks go, the only way to avoid this problem is to change your bank account number or credit card company.
If you’re using your credit or debit card to pay for stuff online, the only way to avoid this problem is to either change your bank account number or change your credit card company.
