I’m not sure what those latter two are, but when I saw the first of four new associates we hired, I thought that they were looking for some of the same things we are, namely a partner who could help with administration like a manager and a director. But we only hire people who we think would be really good at what we do. That’s why, when I saw that the new client services associate had a wife, I was pretty confused.
I guess someone was reading this and thought that a person who had a wife didn’t want to work there. I have no idea if this is true or not, but my guess is that this is a rare occurrence. The good news is that this person will be an associate for at least another year, so you should be able to hire a new one pretty easily.
If you really want to hire someone who will actually be happy to work there, you’ll need to find some way to make the person who wants to work there feel like they actually have a job. One way is to offer a significant raise. This person will go out of their way to be a good employee, so you should be glad to pay them a lot more to make sure they’re happy.
For a low-level associate, a yearly salary is usually around $35k. For a higher level associate, their salary can range from $50k upwards, but it will most likely be somewhere in the middle of the range. You should expect to pay at least the same, though, so you can get away with paying a lot more. You don’t want a low-level associate who won’t actually do anything that is a good fit for the company.
I know this might sound like a strange thing to say, but you should get your associate salary by asking for the job. They can work for you for free in exchange for taking the time to educate them on the company. It is also possible for an associate to be promoted to a higher level, but it is rare.
